Paul Colbey began his extraordinary artistic career in the suburbs of Sydney, where his passion for creating bloomed. Being surrounded by talented family members, and influenced greatly by the need to work with his hands, Paul was encouraged to further develop his emerging artistic abilities through study.

Paul was also strongly influenced by his brother John Colbey, who was at the time, beginning his career and establishing a place in the art world. Paul sees his brother as a role model and John's tutoring has influenced his artistic style over the years.

Paul?s creative life manifested itself in many forms over the years ? from spray painting murals onto cars, to life as a hairstylist in top salons along the east coast of Australia.  He has managed restaurants and galleries, which have also hung his works for public viewing.  His photographic work has glossed the pages of magazines, calendars and greeting cards.

Paul moved to Melbourne, where over a ten year period, he established a name for himself. He began by managing the Tolarnos Gallery, where he also exhibited his work along side the likes of Mirka Mora.  Paul also painted murals in the foyer of Tolarnos Restaurant and The Beconsfield Hotel, for the Ress Family.

Wanting more inspiration, Paul moved to Noosa, where his experimentation with new media caused his creativity to flourish and where he now paints full time. Today Paul?s works are not only a local favourite, but have been purchased by clients from all over the world. Paul also resides for three months each year in Los Angeles, painting and selling his work through a private resident gallery.

Paul is continually finding new ways to bring together the many creative disciplines that fascinate him and the vibrancy, texture, colour and sculptural techniques he has mastered is clearly evident in his work today.
