Sarah Leslie's paintings are imbued with a subtle luminosity that entices the eye into a rhythmic interplay of organic shapes, circles and ovoids. Her works are light and bright, with a deceptive initial impression of simplicity. Through her controlled overlay of form and colour, Sarah’s works give the illusion of depth, dimension and movement, playing lightly with visual paradoxes. While still pushing her boundaries and experimenting, Sarah’s paintings are full of the assurance and polish associated with a deeply experienced painter. A Bachelor of Art's graduate in Graphic Design from Monash University, Sarah began exhibiting in 2002 and has gained an international following with her unique works. Several of her pieces have been licenced for reproduction by the UK company, The Arts Group and even Hollywood has come calling. One of Sarah’s paintings was purchased by Paramount Pictures in 2007 and is currently featuring in Will Smith’s new movie, ‘Hancock’. |
