David Ardley was born in California and spent many of his early years surfing the California coast. Now calling Queensland’s beautiful coast home, David’s art is a fusion of many cultures and influences.  Intense colour and movement define his works.

David’s paintings reflect his love and appreciation of the exquisite natural elements that surround us.  He not only seeks to capture the beauty and serenity of this natural world, but also to reveal the beauty of an imagined one.

His vivid, clear, and transparent paintings have a meditative, calming feeling that people everywhere respond to.  Working with the highest quality resin oils on canvas or aluminium, David paints in thin glazes building upon each layer, to give a strong sense of depth and three dimensional quality to his work.

David’s work has been exhibited and collected by people around the world and he is represented by galleries in the US and Australia.
